Aisle, Window or Business Class

I used to travel most of the time in exit rows due to the additional leg room, lately I have found out (the hard way) that there´re airlines that forbid that passengers that require a seat belt extender sit on exit rows due to the risk of passengers tripping with the seat belt extender in an emergency. So that brings the question of Aisle, Window or Business Class.....

All of the seating arrangements have hazards for people that are overweight, window seats present the odd scenario that the curvature of the plane can make your travel experience awful, the center sit its a no brainier and the isle seat presents the constant person that hits you while walking on the isle and the carts that can become a nice pain in your hand if you are hit by one of them. So sites like http://www.seatguru.com  become your best allies in selecting the most adequate seat for you in a flight, but most importantly be gentle and nice while doing the check-in and ask the attendant if there are any empty seats that they can accommodate you near by so you can use the comfort of two seats instead of one.

  1. Airbus presented a couple months ago an idea to make widder seats while taking space from other seats, personally I beleive that this is not the solution...

Airline seats are already too small for everyone. If you are "big" you fit into the normal seats yet if you are "obese" its a hassle. So even if 65% of the american population are overweight only a few of us come into the "obese" category. This strategy by airbus is just a money scheme to make "big" people buy the aisle seat and pay additional money for it and I completly dissagree with this scheme.

My solution for this problem is the following as stated on a previous comment on another post: "Why and this is just something that would make things easier for big people in some areas of planes with 3 rows they dont place a wider seat option and only place 2 so like when you are buying extra leg room you can buy extra width. I would place only 2 lanes with this option which would cost a 25% or even 50% more making it more comfortable for big people to fly and not have to pay for business class. The Extra Width option will only take one seat from each lane so if 2 lanes are place like this only 2 seats per plane would dissapear. Yet this wide version can be use for lower level members of rewards clubs when there're no upgrades available in case no big people buy the extra width seats.... "

  2. I love your idea, that way there would be a designated area for people that are obese without feeling discriminated and other people don't have to feel uncomfortable if an obese person sits next to them.
